Students in selected state-run schools in Ghana will soon enjoy free supply of chocolate beverages to boost their nutrition, the Ministry of Education has said.
The announcement comes after the ministry signed a memorandum of understanding with Niche Confectionery Ghana Ltd to distribute chocolate drinks to students.
The partnership will help make a reality President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s vision of ensuring that every child has access to a daily cocoa beverage.
In 2017, President Akufo-Addo promised to initiate a programme to ensure that every schoolchild receives free chocolate or a free cocoa-based product every day.
