Akufo-Addo appoints new Chief of Air Staff

Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe takes over from Frank Hanson who is going on retirement from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF)

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has appointed Air Vice Marshal Frederick Asare Kwasi Bekoe as the Chief of Air Staff with immediate effect (26 January 2023).

A statement issued by the Office of the President on Thursday said his predecessor Air Vice Marshal Frank Hanson had completed his “tour of duty” and is gone on retirement from the Ghana Armed Forces (GAF).

President Akufo-Addo has therefore, expressed his gratitude to the former Chief of Air Staff for his dedicated and meritorious service to the Ghana Armed Forces and to the nation, and wished him well in his retirement.
