The American rapper Robert Rihmeek Williams, better known by his stage name Meek Mill, has deleted a music video that was shot at Ghana’s seat of government – Jubilee House.
Some Ghanaians have bashed government officials for giving the US artist “easy” access to the fortified edifice to shoot his music video clip, which has gone viral on social media.
Meek Mill pulled down the promo video moments after the issue topped the trends on Twitter and other social media networks.
Heads must roll
The opposition MP for North Tongu, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has said heads must roll at the Office of the President over the issue.
“All those responsible for the despicable desecration of Jubilee House by Meek Mill must be fired immediately,” he wrote on Facebook.
Meek Mill was seen in different places at the presidency, from the frontage, through the main corridors, in the main conference hall – at a point positioned behind the presidential lectern – and later in a sitting area, rapping.
“How do those explicit lyrics from the president’s lectern project Ghana positively? Is Ghana’s seat of government no longer a high-security installation?” Ablakwa asked.
