Asaase Broadcasting commiserates with AAG over Torgbor Mensah’s death

The chairman of Asaase Broadcasting Company (ABC) Ltd, Gabby Asare Otchere-Darko, led a delegation from Asaase Radio to the Advertising Association of Ghana (AAG) on Friday 5 November, following the passing of the association’s president, Torgbor Mensah.

Mensah, affectionately called Mr Tee, died on Saturday 23 October 2021.

Otchere-Darko said Ghana has lost a colossus of the advertising industry.

“He’s helped promote Ghanaian businessmen, political parties and generally helped shape the narration of Ghana as a place to do business,” he wrote in the book of condolence.

For his part, the general manager of Asaase Broadcasting Company (ABC) Ltd, Prince Moses, said Mensah’s legacy will continue to live on.

“His story and contribution to the industry will have a lasting impact on the media. May his soul rest in peace. We wish his family peace at such a painful moment,” Moses said.

Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd, the first media company to pay a formal call on leaders of the AAG after the death of the association’s president, donated cartons of water to the family of Torgbor Mensah.

About Torgbor Mensah

Mensah was the executive chairman of Great Argon Holdings.

Mr Tee, a graphic designer by profession and entrepreneur with over 35 years of experience in advertising, was also the founder of DPP Outdoor, a famed outdoor advertising company in Ghana with affiliations in Benin, Burkina Faso, Chad, Côte d’Ivoire, the Democratic Republic of Congo, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Kenya, Liberia, Mali, Niger, Senegal, Sierra Leone, South Africa and Togo.

He had many other business interests, such as digital printing and real estate, and won numerous accolades and recognition for his entrepreneurship.

He was the originator of the Ghana International Furniture and Woodworking Industry Exhibition (GIFEX), and was a seasoned practitioner with over 20 years of mounting international exhibitions.

Mensah’s passion for social work led to him becoming a member of many community development boards.
