As the newest addition to the Asaase Broadcasting Company's family, AsaasePa 107.3 MHz brings a blend of content that will provoke positive change, entertain, educate and inspire audiences in the Akan language
AsaasePa 107.3 began full programming on Monday (16 September 2024) and broadcast from Greater Accra, the regional capital.
As the newest addition to the Asaase Broadcasting Company’s family, AsaasePa 107.3 brings a blend of content that will provoke positive change, entertain, educate and inspire audiences in the Akan language.
Speaking on the AsaasePa Kete Drive Time on Monday (16 September), the chief executive officer of Asaase Broadcasting Company Limited, George Andah, urged Ghanaians to embrace the channel for all news, education and entertainment content.
Andah emphasised that AsaasePa aims to be the best local station in the country.
The CEO called on all political parties to take advantage of the programmes on the station as a platform to propagate their ambitions.
He added that numerous educational programmes will be hosted on the station for community development.
“Listeners will be torn between Asaase and AsaasePa Radio jealously,” adding that “there are opportunities for businesses to thrive through sponsorships and promotions.”
Andah expressed his appreciation to stakeholders and contributors to the station, promising that there will be no dull moment for night owls and workers in town as AsaasePa is the home of Authentic Ghanaian Music.
“Redefining the borders”
The programmes manager of Asaase Broadcasting Company Ltd, Nana Otu-Gyandoh, said, “We’ve become the new pharaohs. We are late entrants, but we are setting the pace and redefining the borders of commercial Akan Radio.”
According to Otu-Gyandoh, AsaasePa 107.3 has satisfied many audiences.
“… to the extent that we can comfortably say we are the ones who are going to offer an Akan urban station with a mix of politics and news and so far it feels like, when we had the music right.”
He added, “Music forms about 60% of our offering right now. We are going to start work next week and make people not only set up but rethink the Akan radio business.”
“We assure our offerings in terms of outdoor business or adult broadcast will make a lot of commercial entities pay attention to us because we believe we’ve gotten the research and the preparation to reignite the excitement around Akan radio,” Otu-Gyandoh said.
