Ashanti Gold SC has been demoted to the Division Two League, an official statement from the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has said.
The decision comes after Ashanti Gold SC was found guilty of match manipulation in their 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League match day 34 game against Inter Allies FC.
A statement issued by the GFA on Monday(16 May) said the decision takes effect from the 2022/2023 league season.
Officials of the club and players who participated in the above mentioned match have also been sanctioned by the Disciplinary Committee.
