Ashanti Region: Bawumia begins three-day campaign tour

The 2024 presidential candidateof the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mahamudu Bawumia on Monday (10 June) commenced a three-day campaign tour of the party’s stronghold in the Ashanti Region.

He began the campaign with a strategic meeting at the True Vine Hotel, where he met with the Ashanti regional executives of the NPP, government appointees and MPs.

Bawumia will later meet with paramount chiefs and queen mothers at the Ashanti Regional House of Chiefs secretariat in Kumasi to present his vision to them ahead of the upcoming general elections and the launch of his campaign manifesto.

He is also expected to address the clergy at McKeown Temple and subsequently meet the Muslim community at the Kumasi Central Mosque.

The 2024 presidential candidate of the NPP will later in the day interact with traders at the Kumasi Central Market to connect with traders, listen to their concerns and discuss their aspirations.

He is also expected to round up the first day of his tour by meeting with various professional bodies, including the Ghana Medical Association, Ghana Bar Association, Ghana Journalists Association, University Teachers Association of Ghana, Ghana National Association of Teachers and the National Association of Graduate Teacher.

Others are the Coalition of Concerned Teachers, Ghana Institute of Architects, Ghana Institute of Engineers, Ghana Institute of Surveyors, Ghana Association of Society of Medical Physics, Nurses and Midwifery Association, Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ghana, and the Ghana Institute of Planning.
