APC’s Ayariga to Ghana: “We will eliminate the winner-takes-all syndrome”

The All People’s Congress does the expected, naming Hassan Ayariga as its presidential candidate for Election 2020. He promises to bridge the gap between government and people

The flagbearer of the All People’s Congress (APC), Hassan Ayariga, has promised to introduce an all-inclusive government if elected in the 7 December presidential election.

“The NDC and NPP believes in winner takes it all. When they win power it is all about them. When can we think of the larger majority of Ghanaians, that Ghana is for all of us, so we believe in an all-inclusive government?” he asked.

Hassan Ayariga was speaking at the party’s second national delegates’ congress on the theme “Transforming Ghana and Restoring Hope” in East Legon, Accra.

“This election is about hope for the youth, hope for the elderly to get support, hope for the disabled people, hope for the widow, hope for the many unemployed, hope for the widows, hope for nurses and teachers, hope that our children will get jobs after graduation, and hope that our country will be in the hands of committed and incorruptible leaders,” he told the gathering.

Ghanaians are the priority

“My vision for Ghana is that of optimistic self-confidence and a prosperous nation with a strong force of driving a democratic society in which mutual trust and opportunity exist for all, irrespective of our background,” he said.

He says the party will make the welfare of Ghanaians its priority, unlike the NDC and NPP, which over the years have failed to do so.

“An elected APC government will place people at its centre by making people indeed matter. Their hopes and concerns must drive its policies and priorities. Hassan Ayariga cannot offer you the world, I cannot solve every problem in your lives, but what I can promise you is a Ghana that works better and gives each one of us an opportunity to improve and better your lives,” he said.

Monday’s congress was also used officially to acclaim the founder and leader of the APC, Hassan Ayariga, and all the standing national executives of the party.
