Bono Region: GES to close schools ahead of final funeral rites of late omanhene of Sunyani

According to the GES, students in the public and private basic schools will be out of school from Tuesday, 2 April to Friday, 5 April 2024

The Ghana Education Service (GES) has announced that all basic schools in the Sunyani Municipality of the Bono Region will be closed from Tuesday, 2 April to Friday, 5 April 2024.

This will keep the students indoors while the Sunyani Traditional Council performs the final funeral rites of the late Omanhene of Sunyani.

Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II died on 24 July 2022, at the Bono Teaching Hospital after a short illness. He was 77 years old.

The GES in a statement said, “All basic schools within the Sunyani Traditional area, to close down from 2 to 5 April 2024, during the funeral rites of the late Omanhene of Sunyani Traditional area, Nana Bosoma Asor Nkrawiri II.”
