BOST probes adulteration of petroleum products at Kumasi depot

The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company (BOST) says the truck and its content are being held for investigations

The Bulk Oil Storage and Transportation Company Limited (BOST) has commenced investigations into product adulteration at its Kumasi depot.

A statement issued by BOST on Tuesday said it discovered the product adulteration over the past few days and is taking measures to rectify the anomaly.

According to the statement, a truck and its content are being held at a safe place whilst investigations continue.

The driver of the truck is currently in custody, helping the investigative agencies to get to the bottom of the matter, the statement added.

The company said the incident has not affected fuel safety and its operations so far.

“BOST wishes to assure the public that, with the current robust Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), no adulterated product will find its way into our tanks much less get to the market.

“The company wishes to further assure the public that, the reported incident has not affected our operations in any way and our fuel safety and security as a country is assured,” the statement said.
