Bui Power Authority: We’ve not carried out dam spillage in Buipe

A section of the media reports that a purported spillage at the dam rendered over 1,500 residents in Buipe homeless

The Bui Power Authority, operators of the Bui dam, has denied carrying out any spillage activity that might have resulted in floods displacing 1,500 people in Buipe in the Central Gonja District of the Savannah Region.

A section of the media reports that a purported spillage at the dam rendered over 1,500 residents in Buipe homeless.

However, in a statement issued on Tuesday (26 September), the authority said no such activity has taken place recently.

“The Bui Power Authority wishes to empathically state that we have not been involved in any spillage activity,” the statement said.
