The police have picked up the spiritualist who convinced a father to bury alive his two-year-old son at Breman Asikuma in the Central Region.
The 64-year-old prophetess and head of the Christ Fire Word Church International at Gomoa Eshiem, Ama Nkansah, was taken to the police station by opinion leaders of Gomoa Ajumako where she went into hiding.
Nkansah is said to have ordered the father of the boy, Paul Adobaw, to kill his son to avert a bad omen in the future. She claimed little Yaw Adobaw has been possessed by demons hence his inability to walk and talk.
The suspect together with the landlady and the spiritualist decided to bury the child at the back of the their house which is near a river but luck eluded them when they were chanced upon by the complainant, Abubakar Muhammed.
The Breman Asikuma magistrate court has remanded into police custody the father. He has been remanded until 31 August 2021. The landlord is also yet to be arrested.
The body has since been exhumed.
