Central Region: Asaase 100.3’s Nana Ama Egyiriba wins RTP Radio Personality of the Year

Her show “What Women Want” also won the Programme of the Year award at last year’s Central Media Awards

Nana Ama Egyiriba of Asaase 100.3 Cape Coast has been adjudged the 2022 Radio Personality of the Year in the Central Region at the Radio and Television Personality (RTP) Awards.

Her show What Women Want also won the Programme of the Year award in 2021 at the Central Media Awards.

“This is so special to me. I picked up the same award last year and here I am again, repeating it for the second time,” Egyiriba told Asaase Showbiz. “It tells me I can never take my listeners for granted. They love me, and I owe them the very best.

“Consistency and hard work pay, and I thank God for this achievement and success story,” she said.

Egyiriba said she is looking forward to greater achievements.

“Although I know there is a lot more ahead of me, Asaase Radio is a big brand, and I look forward to enriching the platform with a lot more interesting content,” she said.

Egyiriba said her 17 years of experience in the media industry in Cape Coast, Accra and Takoradi, spanning radio, television and advertising, is driven by passion and action towards achieving a goal.

“I have over the years trained myself on my delivery and every platform I have been on,” she said.

The presenter sad she was exposed to media work at a tender age and this has moulded her to achieve excellence.

“I started radio at a very tender age. I used to go on GBC Radio in Cape Coast while in primary and junior high school. That increased my interest in the job.”

Overcoming challenges

Egyiriba said she is ready to overcome the challenges in her field.

“The power of my voice is a special gift from God that takes me places. Challenges do come, but my focus is not on the challenges, but on how to overcome them,” she said.

Touching on her success story, she said: “Any time I wanted to take a break in my media journey, my fans and followers made sure I came back, and that has been my success story.”

However, she advised colleagues in the industry and budding journalists to work hard and be focused.

“To all my critics, followers and listeners, you are part of my formation. I love you, my family, friends and my manager, Jimmy Kutin; I appreciate you for everything. This is just the beginning of God’s goodness,” she said.

Egyiriba is the host of the mid-morning weekday show Asaase Café and on Saturdays of What Women Want on Asaase 100.3 Cape Coast.
