The Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) has refuted claims suggesting it has purchased fifteen iPad keyboards worth GHC4,500 each for its board members.

COCOBOD has come under public backlash following the circulation of a memo from the board’s information systems department requesting for approval for the purchase of iPad keyboards for board members.

Speaking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on the Asaase Breakfast Show on Tuesday (2 April), the head of public affairs at COCOBOD, Stephen Fiifi Boafo said the memo was just a proposal.

“Management has not approved it, management is not approving it and management has not procured these iPad keyboards.”

“The position of management of COCOBOD today is that we are not procuring it. The fact that it has emanated from a department does not make it the position of the board,” he said.
