Concerned delegates: We’ve not endorsed any candidate apart from Yusif Tedam

According to the concerned delegates though they do not support tribal politics they will praise the exploits of Dr Tedam within the entire Northern Regions

Some concerned delegates of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Northern Regions have debunked reports that they have endorsed other candidates for the national treasurer position in the upcoming national elections of the party.

According to the concerned delegates though they do not support tribal politics they will praise the exploits of Dr Yusif Tedam within the entire Northern Regions.

He is aspiring for the national treasurer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP). Dr Tedam who is occupying the third position on the ballot paper of the national party elections is highly tipped to win.

A delegate Nmendare Abubakar noted that Dr Tedam has contributed his quota to the party and built a good name for himself hence the need to support him.

“Anidaso App”

Dr Yusif Tedam has said when giving the mandate, he will institute a new technology that will make it easier for members who are in need to reach out to regional executives of the party for assistance.

This is coming on the back of several complaints by the grassroots that they have been neglected by the various hierarchy of the NPP after the party won power in the 2020 national election.

He said the new App will be the third eye to monitor the system to ensure that at the regional and constituency level every member of the party is catered for.

Dr Tedem said if for any reason a member of a constituency is being neglected the new App will identify them to the constituency executives, the regional and eventually the national executives of the party.

According to Dr Tedam, a database in the new App which will be called “Anidasoo App” will contain the details of all constituency members.

The aim is to bring the grassroots and the various executives together – away from the situation where constituency members persistently complain about not having access to their constituency executives and have been neglected by the party.

“The new App will identify all these members and they will receive assistance,” he said.

Dr Tedam says apart from this new application (App) there will be a fund and an insurance scheme to cater for the members in times of health emergencies.

Forty-seven aspirants have been approved by the elections committee of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) to contest for national executive positions in July.

In all, ten positions are up for grabs – the national chairmanship, first, second and third vice-chairs, general secretary, national organiser, national youth organiser, national treasurer, national women’s organiser and national Nasara co-ordinator.
