The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has so far vaccinated 13,026,180  people since the COVID-19 mass vaccination programme started on 2 March 2021.

An update on the GHS dashboard shows that as at 18 March 2022, 5,050, 369 persons representing 22.1 percent have been fully vaccinated.

The data also suggest 8,991,580 persons representing 39.3 percent have so far received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccine.

Below is a breakdown of the vaccines administered so far.

Ghana is still leading the way in COVID management

The head of the Delegation of the European Union to Ghana, Irchad Razaaly, has commended Ghana for its exemplary leadership in management of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Talking to Kwaku Nhyira-Addo on The Asaase Breakfast Show on Friday (18 March), the EU envoy in Ghana said the bloc has so far given Ghana the equivalent of US$85 million in grants to help fight the disease.

“Culture is what brings us all together as a people and continent. The EU supports the idea that Ghana is a cultural hub for West Africa and Africa has a stimulus package to help in dealing with the pandemic.

“The way Ghana managed the COVID [pandemic] is really commendable … when you compare the lives lost in Ghana to the rest of Africa and the world, then you’ll see how well Ghana did,” Razaaly said.

“We have financed a significant amount of money to Ghana in the last eight months with about US$85 million grants given to Ghana as a stimulus package to help post-COVID,” he said.
