One more person has died of COVID-19 taking Ghana’s death toll to 1,208 , the latest update from the Ghana Health Service (GHS) said.
The country’s active cases have also dropped marginally to 734 after 27 new coronavirus cases were confirmed at the laboratories.
As at 17 November 2021, the GHS reports that the country’s total confirmed cases increased to 130, 827, out of which 128, 885 have recovered.
So far, 25 cases have been classified as severe while 3 remain critical, according to GHS.
Cases detected at the Kotoka International Airport (KIA) are 2,950 with 2,904 recoveries so far.
Vaccination
So far 3,493,688 persons have been vaccinated across the country as at 18 November 2021, the Ghana Health Service said.

Vaccination
Meanwhile, the GHS said it has begun the vaccination of 15-year-olds and above with the Pfizer vaccines in schools across the country.
The Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine has been authorised for children ages 15 and up, widening the Ghana population that will be protected against the virus and bolstering chances for a safe return to full-time school after the Christmas and New Year festivities.
Until the approval last Monday, the national vaccination plan only captured people 18 years and above.
