The ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) in Damongo in the Savannah region has called on the people of Damongo to disregard false accusations that the Member of Parliament for the area, Samuel Abu Jinapor, is meddling in Damongo chieftaincy issues.
This came after some individuals affiliated with some traditional authorities alleged that the lawmaker had been interfering in chieftaincy affairs in the area.
A statement dated 17 July, 2024 and signed by the constituency secretary of the party, Kadiri Abdul-Rahman, said the MP is focused on matters of development for the benefit of the people of Damongo and has no interest in meddling in chieftaincy affairs.
“We call on the good people of Damongo to disregard these baseless and unsubstantiated accusations and treat them with the contempt they deserve,” the statement reads.
