The overlord of Gonjaland Yagbonwura Bii-kunuto Jewu Soale I, has lifted a ban on the Member of Parliament for Damongo, Samuel Abu Jinapor.
The lifting of the ban means the Damongo MP can now have access or lead any government official to any palace in Gonjaland.
In July this year, Samuel Abu Jinapor was banned by Yagbonwura from visiting or leading any government official to any palace in Gonjaland for his alleged disrespect to the king and some chiefs in Gonjaland.
However, a government delegation visited Yagbonwura to seek for the his forgiveness.
The government delegation included the Minister of Chieftaincy and Religious Affairs, Stephen Asamoah Boateng, the Savannah Regional Minister Saeed Muhazu Jibril, the MCE for West Gonja Karim Musah Kusubari and the Savannah Regional chairman of the NPP, Alhaji Iddrisu Sulemana,
The Chieftaincy Minister, Asamoah Boateng thanked Yagbonwura for the generosity shown to the delegation and promised that the concerns raised, especially issues that directly affects his [Asamoah Boateng] Ministry will be solved in a peaceful manner.
“My brother here [Abu Jinapor] respects the tradition, indeed he’s a royal and as a royal he has to come to pay his dues… I like the way he came and laid down, showing that a son is always a son,” the minister said.
“Thank you so much on behalf of the president and all of us and we will still talk to you to resolve all the matters amicably, thank you so much,” Asamoah Boateng added.
