Empress Gifty: Shatta Wale’s message to Nigerians on point

Empress Gifty says the controversial dancehall artiste hit the nail right on the head except for his use of expletives

Empress Gifty, the Ghanaian gospel musician has backed dancehall artiste Shatta Wale for calling out fellow Nigerian musicians over their self-centeredness.

In a Twitter rage late last year, the dancehall king said that Nigerians should thank and respect Ghanaians because their musicians come to Ghana and other African countries for the numbers before becoming known around the world, but they do not reciprocate the love.

Empress Gifty said the controversial dancehall artiste hit the nail right on the head except for his use of expletives.

“I want to ask which gospel artiste from Ghana have you heard went to Nigeria and was welcomed with a radio tour and even when they come to Ghana some of them don’t want to take pictures with us even when we advertised their coming to Ghana,” the gospel artiste lamented on Instagram.

Empress Gifty has over the years been a great fan of the vociferous artiste and usually takes to social media to applaud him on trending issues.

“When was the last time a gospel artiste in Ghana headlined a show in Nigeria, some of them only post their coming to Ghana a day before their arrival,” she added.

Empress, as she is popularly called, stressed that Nigerian gospel musicians fail to promote their Ghanaian counterparts back in their country.

“The only time I remember a Ghanaian artiste going for a show in Nigeria was Celestine Donkor, I want to ask, the way we treat Nigerian artistes in Ghana is that how they treat Ghanaian artistes in Nigeria?’’ she asked.
