Stonebwoy who graduated from GIMPA with a Second Class in Public Administration performed at the Gold Stage of this year’s Festival on Saturday, August 3.
Nigeria loses iconic artist, Onyeka Onwenu
In a reflection shared three years ago, the veteran Nigerian singer and actress Onyeka Onwenu revealed her wishes for how she would like to be remembered and buried.
The iconic artist, known for her powerful voice and activism, was said to have died on Tuesday night at the Reddington Hospital in Lagos after slumping at the birthday party of Stella Okoli.
“Do it quickly, quietly and privately,” Onwenu wrote in an opinion piece on Premium Times in 2021, emphasising that her burial should be devoid of unnecessary fanfare.
She urged her loved ones to “mourn, yes but not excessively,”, and to focus instead on celebrating her life with prayers and light-hearted moments.
Death of three-year-old: Continuous adjournment affecting our client, says Lil Win’s legal team
Lawyers for Ghanaian actor and comedian Kwadwo Nkansah, aka Lil Win have expressed frustration at the manner in which the trial against their client continue to suffer further adjournment. This came to light when prosecution told the Asokore Mampong Court that the AG was yet to present its report for the full trial to commence.
The actor is on a GHC50,000 bail following a recent accident involving a vehicle he was driving, resulted in the death of a three-year-old boy.
The court on Monday (29 July) adjourned sitting to 22 August, pending the Attorney General’s advice.
Maame Dokono to celebrate 60th anniversary in acting on September 7
Ghanaian screen legend, Grace Omaboe, popularly known as Maame Dokono, is set to mark a remarkable milestone – 60 years in the entertainment industry – on September7.
To kick off the celebrations, Maame Dokono launched her 60th-anniversary festivities at the Silverbird Cinema in Accra on Tuesday, July 30.
The celebration will include a series of events, such as a health screening and the highly anticipated release of her autobiography, which promises to offer a glimpse into her illustrious career.
The veteran actress, Maame Dokono, gained widespread recognition for her outstanding performances in the popular Akan drama TV series and as the charismatic host of “By The Fire Side” on GTV.
I’m sorry – Lil Win apologises to Martha Ankomah for denigrating her brand
Multifaceted Ghanaian celebrity Kwadwo Nkansah known popularly as Lil Win has finally apologised to actress Martha Ankomah for denigrating her brand.
It will be recalled that Lil Win in a video that went viral on social media, used some unprintable words on the person of Martha Ankomah, questioning her prominence in the movie industry, among others.
The actress then sued the Kumawood actor for defamation of character. Earlier this week, Lawyer for Martha Ankomah in court announced that Lil Win had reached out and asked for an out-of-court settlement.
When the case was called in court on 31 July, lawyers for the actress who is the plaintiff, Nii Apatu Plange, stated, “There has been some development.”
