GAHLCA Cup Championship returns this weekend

The Ghana Air Force handball teams will be looking to go one better than their 2023 results in both the men's and women's categories

The Greater Accra Handball Association’s (GAHA) 2024 Greater Accra Handball League Club Association (GAHLCA) Cup Championship gets underway this Saturday (22 June), with matches scheduled for the Airport Base in Accra and the Handball Court in Burma Camp.

The Ghana Air Force handball teams will be looking to go one better than their 2023 results in both the men’s and women’s categories.

The men’s team fell narrowly to the Fire Service in a thrilling 31-29 final, while the Air Force Ladies were edged out 6-5 on penalties by the Prisons Ladies after a dramatic 21-21 draw.

Their quest for redemption begins on Saturday (22 June) with the Air Force men facing off against the Thunder Strikers. The Air Force Ladies’ opening match will be confirmed at a later date.

Fire Service, the reigning men’s champions, and Prisons Ladies, the women’s title holders, will discover their first-round opponents in a separate announcement.
