Ghana rise in latest FIFA rankings
The Black Stars have moved up in the latest ranking released by the world football governing body FIFA on 29 June 2023
The world football governing body has released the latest FIFA ranking, with the Black Stars benefitting from their recent matches under new coach Chris Hughton.
The Ghanaian national team moved up in the ranking released by the world football governing body on 29 June 2023.
The Black Stars were ranked 60th in the last ranking released in April but have now moved up to the 59th spot.
In terms of African rankings, Ghana currently sit just outside the top 10, occupying the 11th position.
Morocco holds the highest rank among African teams, with Senegal, Tunisia, Algeria, and Egypt completing the top 5.
Nigeria, Cameroon, Mali, La Cote d’Ivoire, and Burkina Faso make up the rest of the top 10 African countries in the rankings.
On the global stage, Argentina, the reigning World Cup champions, retain their position at the top of the rankings.
Their recent friendly victories over Australia and Indonesia have solidified their lead. France and Brazil closely follow in second and third place, respectively.
