Ghana’s futsal stars gear up for AFCON in Morocco

The final 20-man squad for the Futsal AFCON will be revealed after the team's training camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram

Ghana’s national futsal team is in the final stages of their training camp at the Ghanaman Soccer Centre of Excellence in Prampram. The intensive preparations come ahead of their participation in the 2024 Futsal Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON), which kicks off on 11 April in Rabat, Morocco.

Head Coach Philip Boakye has assembled a provisional squad of 28 players who have been undergoing rigorous training to sharpen their skills and build team cohesion. The final 20-man squad will be selected from this group shortly.

Ghana finds itself in a competitive Group A alongside the host nation and defending champions Morocco, Angola (2020 Futsal AFCON semifinalists), and Zambia. Their opening match will be against Zambia, followed by crucial clashes against Morocco and Angola.

The stakes are high at the 2024 Futsal AFCON. The top three finishers will secure qualification for the 2024 FIFA Futsal World Cup, to be held in Uzbekistan later this year.
