Veteran Ghanaian gospel singer Rev Alexander Bruce-Ghartey, popularly known as Uncle Ato, has lost his wife.

Amen Ama Bruce-Ghartey died on 10 November 2022.

“I officially announce the sudden death of my wife Mrs. Amen Ama Bruce-Ghartey on Thursday 10 November 2022. Kindly remember us in prayer,” Uncle Ato posted on Facebook.

Meanwhile, some gospel musicians have been commiserating with Uncle Ato since his wife passed.

“Sorry to announce that our dear UNCLE ATO lost his wife. Indeed people don’t look like what they are going through.

“I seriously admire the way he is still smiling in this tough storm. May the good Lord comfort the entire family in this hard time,” Celestine Donkor posted on Facebook.

“Yesterday, we were at the house of our dear brother, Uncle Ato, @reverendato to sympathise with him on the loss of his dear wife.”

“Our prayers, love and sympathies are with you as you grieve. You have our deepest condolences.

What you are going through is hard to imagine. We join you in prayers as you mourn the loss of your dear wife. @reverendato,” Piesie Esther posted on Facebook.

The one-week celebration for the late Amen Ama Bruce-Ghartey will be held at the Zoe Temple Branch of the International Central Gospel Church in Tema.
