GRIDCo, ECG attribute recent intermittent power cuts to limited gas supply
GRIDCo says engineers from Ghana National Gas Limited Company are actively working to resolve the issue and restore the full gas supply required to stabilise power generation
The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) have attributed the recent intermittent power outages in parts of the country to limited gas supply from the Atuabo Gas Processing Plant.
GRIDCo says engineers from Ghana National Gas Limited Company are actively working to resolve the issue and restore the full gas supply required to stabilise power generation.
A joint statement issued by GRIDCo and ECG on Wednesday ( 25 September) apologised to customers for the inconvenience.
”The Ghana Grid Company Limited (GRIDCo) and the Electricity Company of Ghana (ECG) wish to inform the public that due to a challenge at the Ghana National Gas Limited Company Limited (GNGC) Gas Processing Plant (GPP) at Atuabo, gas supply for power generation has been limited which has caused some customers to experience intermittent interruption in power supply.”
“We apologise unreservedly for the inconveniences caused to the public as a result of this challenge,” the statement said.
