Hearts of Oak deny issuing five-game ultimatum to coach Ouattara

The Phobians have had a disappointing start to the season, suffering a 1-0 defeat to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in their Ghana Premier League opener

Hearts of Oak have dismissed reports claiming they gave their head coach Aboubakar Ouattara a five-game ultimatum to turn the team’s fortunes around.

The Phobians have had a disappointing start to the season, suffering a 1-0 defeat to newly promoted Basake Holy Stars in their Ghana Premier League opener.

Ouattara has lost more games (8) than he has won (7) since his appointment in February 2024.

The management and the supporters’ leadership, NCC, issued a communique employing all Phobians to throw their unflinching support behind the team as we go into the new football season to ensure that our collective interest of achieving success is met and this is firmly on course despite the setback in match-day-1.

Hearts travel to Kpando for a clash with Heart of Lions in their second fixture of the Premier League.

In a statement, the club described the reports as “entirely false and fabricated, and should be disregarded”.

“Coach Ouattara, his technical team, and players deserve our support which is paramount to our resolve to achieving success,” the club said.
