“Boafoͻ” Kojo Frempong cuts sod for new Astroturf in Wenchi

The Wenchi Mini Sports Arena is fitted with spectator stands, a coach’s dug out, flood lights and will benefit more than 10,000 residents

The Parliamentary candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Wenchi Constituency Kojo Frempong has cut the sod for work to begin on a mini-stadium in the Asuogya enclave of Wenchi. Kojo Frempong affectionately called ” Boafoͻ” or the ‘Helper’ said the AstroTurf being constructed in the Koase-Asuano electoral area is an edifice that will serve as a reminder of the progress that the Akufo- Addo- Bawumia government has since given to Wenchi under its tenure.

“This mini-stadium is only one of the many things the government of Akufo-Addo and Dr Bawumia has done for Wenchi. I am extremely proud of the 35million euros water project that will also solve all the water problems in the Wenchi municipality for the next 50 years which was started and is due to be completed in December.

“Nobody in Wenchi township to Nkosia and Awisa will ever cry for water again, thanks to the good work of President Akufo-Addo and Professor Gyan Baffour, the former Member of Parliament of Wenchi.”, Kojo Frempong told the media with the tacit support of Wenchi constituency’s chairman, Ali Awudu popularly known as Chairman Bojooo nu.

The parliamentary candidate spoke glowingly about the immense role played by Godfred Dame, the Attorney General and Minister of Justice who ‘Boafo Kojo’  credits for being the main architect of the project.

Transformative Project

The Asuogya Mini Sports Arena is fitted with spectator stands, a coach’s dug out, flood lights and will benefit more than 10,000 residents in the enclave.

The Chief Operations Officer of Wembley Construction firm, Uriah Kwasi Antwi said the pitch will be completed before the December 7 presidential and parliamentary elections this year.

“This AstroTurf when completed will be something everybody from Wenchi will be proud of. We will work to deliver the project by the first week of December 2024. I have seen how transformative Wembley projects have been to beneficiary communities.

“So far, Wembley Construction has delivered more than 50 projects to various places in the country. The modern designs and quality fittings stand the test of time and become the rallying places for games and recreation, an essential part of the community,” Uriah Kwasi Antwi said.

Make Wenchi great again

Kojo Frempong’s campaign to become the member of Parliament of Wenchi revolves around the mantra; “Make Wenchi great again”. A cursory analysis of projects undertaken in the Wenchi constituency so far shows that Kojo Frempong’s influence and political capital is soaring by the day.

He has constructed several boreholes in the constituency, facilitated the enlistment of many young people into the security services and is funding more than 25 students in many of Ghana’s universities and tertiary schools.

“What ever I do in the Wenchi constituency is because I am standing on the shoulders of the great Professor Kofi Abrefa Busia, Ghana’s Prime Minister between 1969 and1971.” Said Kojo Frempong who recently registered at least 6000 people unto the national health insurance scheme in Wenchi.

“My vision is interminably bound with the works of Professor Gyan Baffour and Alhaji Moktar Bamba, both former members of Parliament in the Wenchi constituency. These great men put Wenchi on the map and I am bound to dutifully do same.

“My plan is to make Wenchi the center of Bono excellence through innovation and deliberate planning and acta that will make the municipality flourish again.  We need to be revolutionary in our thoughts about how we approach constituency economics and development in Wenchi.”

Alfred Ofori Anye, the Deputy Chief Executive  Officer of the Produce Buying Company who also hails from Wenchi and is a senior member of the NPP in Wenchi said; “This AstroTurf is a gift from the President to Wenchiman. It is part of bringing the community up to a modern standard.

“The goal is to see your own kith and kin ustilising this pitch for the success of the youth in this area. Between a man who brings you these improvements and one who is claiming a reset. Reset to what? The choice is yours, Ofori Anye said.

“We have not seen anything like this in the constituency. Boafo) Kojo Frempong is really a different kind of politician. He always does what he says, and he is so affable and accessible.  Everybody who encounters him has a pleasant experience about his energy to make a difference and his dynamic personality.

“We pray for protection from the Lord and wisdom to guide all his decisions. I am happy for the people of Asuogya and Wenchi to be presented with this Astroturf.  It shall change lives for the better.” Nana Ampem Akama Dadaa III said.

Beposo wins
