I am proud I didn’t chase money blindly, says Blakk Rasta

Blakk Rasta has expressed his pride about not focusing solely on money during his youthful days

Ghanaian reggae / Kuchoko artiste Blakk Rasta has said that he is happy to have invested in the next generation rather than aggressively pursuing money.

Speaking on Asaase Café with Caroline Sampson on Thursday (2 May) Blakk Rasta noted that “In fact I would say that I am so excited about the fact that I didn’t run after a lot of the things that my peers did, like money.”

According to him, he would have been one of the richest men in the world if he had aggressively pursued money.

“I mean today looks like everybody is just running after the money. Money … if I had run after money I am sure that I would have been one of the richest men on earth.”

He added, “But I am glad that i am not rich in the pockets but rich upstairs. So I would say that one of my proudest moments would be to stand in front of the Almighty and say heck I spoke the language you put into my mouth; living entirely for humanity.”

“You know people kill for money, they can lower the standards and bring down the bar, they don’t care what happens to the next generation, Blakk Rasta is not that kind of person.”

Blakk Rasta explained that he is more focused on improving the lives of the next generation.

“I don’t run after money, when money comes in fact I am happy to have it but at the end of the day, I share it and I look at the number of people who have passed through my hands, a lot of people who get to eat because of me and I feel grateful.”
