I can’t hand over again, Domelevo calls bluff of Audit Service Board

Daniel Domelevo

Daniel Yao Domelevo, the former Auditor General, says it is preposterous for the Audit Service Board to direct him to prepare a comprehensive handing over of the Audit Service to the acting Auditor General, Johnson Akuamoah Asiedu.

Domelevo said he handed over to the acting Auditor General before going on his [Domelevo’s] ‘forced leave’ in 2020.

He said if the Audit Service Board insisted on a handing over from him, it should direct the acting Auditor General to first hand over to him (Domelevo) so he could also hand over to him again.

In a statement Domelevo said, “Your request for a handing over note is preposterous to me because I have been out of office for more than eight months…” he responded among many other explanations, concluding that “All the above notwithstanding, if you so wish, please direct the acting Auditor General to hand over to me and I will thereafter handover to him.”

A letter signed by Edward Dua Agyeman, the chairman of the Audit Service Board, dated 16 March 2021 asked Domelevo to complete the handing over notes and hand same over within two weeks.
