Côte d’Ivoire: President Ouattara back on duty after Covid recovery

The presidency said the head of state tested positive for the virus at the beginning of the month.

Côte d’Ivoire’s  President Alassane Ouattara has recovered from Covid-19 and resumed his duties on Wednesday.

The presidency said the head of state tested positive for the virus at the beginning of the month.

The president was earlier said to have been self-isolating after coming into contact with a person who tested positive.

The office did not at the time mention that the president had tested positive.

President Ouattara had encouraged the Ivorian population to get vaccinated while observing the health measures put in place to fight the disease.
