Krachi East MCE commends government on DRIP initiative

The MCE has indicated that the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) will enhance local economic development

The MCE for the Krachi East municipality, Charles Boateng, has praised the NPP government’s bold initiative to procure heavy machines to boost economic growth and infrastructure development across the country.

Speaking to Asaase News in an exclusive interview after the launch of the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) initiative in the Oti Region, he said, the machines will help develop the road network in the Krachi East municipality and the Oti Region at large to boost economic growth and post-harvest losses.

The MCE has indicated that the District Road Improvement Programme (DRIP) will enhance local economic development.

“It is as if the president really made this plan a reality for the people of Krachi East municipality because, there are lots of bad roads in the municipality, hence affecting goods and services, especially farmers. Any time they harvest and try to transport their farm produce to the market, they have to struggle to get to the nearby market.

“Some lost their farm produce due to the bad nature of our roads in the municipality and the region. So I believe this initiative is meant for the people of Krachi East and the Oti Region,” he said.

Boateng, however, appealed to all residents to continue to trust the NPP government for good works and urged them to vote massively for the party come December general elections.
