Kuami Eugene wins VGMA Artiste of the Year
The 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards (VGMAs) passes off successfully despite COVID with Kuami Eugene crowned the top act of 2020
Kuami Eugene emerged as the Artiste of the Year at the 21st Vodafone Ghana Music Awards on Saturday night at the Accra International Conference Centre.
He beat contenders such as Sarkodie, Kofi Kinaata, Medikal and Diana Hamilton to win the topmost award given by the Ghana music industry.

The night also witnessed thrilling performances by acts such as Celestine Donkor, Episode, Kofi Kinaata, Kuami Eugene, Kidi, Medikal, Efya, Adina and Kwesi Arthur.
The climax of the evening was the set by Akosua Agyepong, Amandzeba and Rex Omar, who previously made up the group Nakorex.
Heroes of the night
The organisers held the first part of the event on Friday to honour musicians in selected categories ahead of Saturday’s ceremony.
This year’s edition was also used to confer a special award on the Ghana Health Service – the VGMA COVID-19 Heroes Award – for its immense effort fighting the coronavirus in Ghana.

- Best Collaboration of the Year “Oofeetso” by Sarkodie and Prince Bright
