Kwabena Boateng retains Ejisu parliamentary seat for NPP

The Ejisu parliamentary by-election became necessary following the sudden death of John Kumah, the MP for the area

The parliamentary candidate of the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) Kwabena Boateng has won the Ejisu by-election.

Boateng secured 27, 772 representing 55.8% while his closest contender Kwabena Owusu Aduomi, an independent candidate, polled 21,534 representing garnered 42.6% of the total votes.

Beatrice Boakye of the Liberal Party secured 140 votes representing 0.3%. Esther Osei of the Convention People’s Party got 89 votes representing 0.2% votes.

Independent candidate Fredua Joseph Agyemang got 222 votes representing 0.4% while Atakora Joseph polled 23 votes representing 0.1%.

The Ejisu parliamentary by-election became necessary following the sudden death of John Kumah, the MP for the area.

The by-election was peaceful and incident-free.
