Maiden African Esports Championship heads to Casablanca in August

The International Esports Federation (IESF) has announced the continent’s first-ever African Esports Championship is set to take place from 17–21 August in Casablanca, Morocco.

The landmark event, supported by the African Confederation of Digital Sports (ACDS) and the Royal Moroccan Federation of Electronic Games (FRMJE), will see over 300 gamers from 47 African nations vying for glory in four popular titles.

Gamers will compete across Mobile Legends: Bang Bang, PUBG Mobile, Counter-Strike 2 (CS2), and eFootball 2024. Beyond continental bragging rights, the championship offers a crucial stepping stone for African esports athletes.

Top performers will battle for coveted slots at the prestigious 2024 World Esports Championships, taking place in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, from 11–19 November.

With a staggering US$1 million prize pool on the line at the World Esports Championships, the African Esports Championship presents a golden opportunity for African gamers to showcase their skills on the world stage.
