Milovan Rajevac names Joseph Aidoo, Alfred Duncan in first call up

Ghana coach Milovan Rajevac has named a 32-man provisional squad for next month’s FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022 qualifiers against Zimbabwe

The new Black Stars head coach, Milovan Rajevac, has named Celta Vigo defender Joseph Aidoo in his provisional squad for Ghana’s doubleheader against Zimbabwe in the 2022 World Cup Qualifiers.

The Celta Vigo defender returns with Fiorentina midfielder Alfred Duncan and Yeni Malatyaspor forward Benjamin Tetteh.

Richard Ofori’s injury means Kotoko’s Ibrahim Danlad gets a chance in the team. In a surprise move, the Serbian trainer has named Swindon Town keeper, Jojo Wollacott in the team.

The midfield pair of Thomas Partey and Kudus Mohammed who missed the games against Ethiopia and South Africa through injury have returned to the team. They will be joined by Mubarak Wakaso and Baba Iddrisu who held the fort in their absence.

Crystal Palace forward, Jordan Ayew and team captain Andre Ayew also make the squad. However, Darmstadt 98 forward, Braydon Manu has been left out.

Rajevac’s first game in charge will be against Zimbabwe on 9 October in Cape Coast, before a date with the same team in Harare three days later.
