Mobile Money Limited has launched activities to celebrate the 15th anniversary of its mobile money services in the country

Mobile Money Limited has outlined activities for the celebration of its 15 years of operation in Ghana.

The theme for the celebration is, “Empowering Communities – Celebrating 15 years of Progressive Financial & Digital Inclusion,” encapsulates the essence of what MoMo represents and the impact it has had on the lives of many.

The CEO of Mobile Money Limited, Eli Hini in his speech read by the Head of Business Intelligence & Decision Support, Solomon Hayford said, from inception, the goal of Mobile Money Limited has been clear on leveraging the power of technology to create a more inclusive financial ecosystem.

“It started as a simple yet powerful concept, enabling people to send and receive money using their mobile phones”.

“Over the years, this concept has evolved and MoMo has become an indispensable part of everyday life for millions of Ghanaians indeed we are touching every Ghanaian household everyday,” he said.

The service has expanded into other critical aspects of our daily financial needs such as offering loans, insurance, international remittance, investments and many more.

He added that has stated that the company will continue to invest in robust security measures to combat fraud and cybersecurity risks facing the Mobile Money sector.

At the launch of activities outlined to celebrate MoMo’s 15 years of existence, the CEO advised customers to protect their MoMo PIN and avoid clicking on unsolicited links.

He also assured users of the MoMo platform of the company’s determination to invest in solutions that would empower them to seamlessly resolve most of their issues without visiting their service centres.

Present at the Western and Central launch in Takoradi were some Financial Institutions, Channel Partners, Trade Partners and about 300 MoMo Vendors and Agents.

Some market women sharing their experience saying that, using the MoMo service has made transaction very simple by reading cost in purchasing items from their dealers.

The theme for this year’s celebration is, “Empowering Communities – Celebrating 15 years of Progressive Financial & Digital Inclusion,” encapsulates the essence of what MoMo represents and the impact it has had on the lives of many.

Activities lined up for the celebration include Float activities through key streets across Ghana, New Service Launch – Exciting new products – Loan products, New MyMoMo App, Customer promotion, MoMo Fraud campaign, Skills training for SMEs and Awards night to reward various stakeholders for their performance over the period.
