MTN: 3i Africa Summit offered us platform to share our growth strategy

The three-day summit was under the theme, “Unleashing Africa’s Fintech and Digital Economic Potential”

Telecommunication firm MTN has said it participated in the just ended 3i Africa Summit to share its strategy and products in line with how it intends evolve and drive growth in the fintech and telecommunication sector.

Speaking on the sidelines of the three-day summit, Abdul Razak Ali, head, commercial relation at Mobile Money Limited said the forum offered MTN the opportunity to also showcase what intends doing as a platform provider.

“We believe that as a leader with regards to fintech and telecommunication provider in Ghana, it was really important that we put our weight behind our regulator to be able to drive digital agenda in Ghana.”

“We felt that the event which was at its inaugural phases and essentially the platform that was being provides was worthy of us coming here to share our plans or strategy and our products in terms of how we want to evolve and move the fintech and telecommunication sector forward.”

“To be able to leverage this event, we thought it was important to put our best forward and have our experts in the industry to come and share their knowledge beyond MTN and Mobile Money, we came with our agents, CEO Stephen Blewett, MML CE Shaibu Haruna …” he said.

The Summit was under the theme, “Unleashing Africa’s Fintech and Digital Economic Potential”.

It  brought together key players in the financial, investment, policy-regulatory and digital technology domains in Africa, including three Heads of State, 10 Governors of Central Banks within and outside Africa including the Bank of Ghana’s Dr Ernest Addison, the Central Bank of Nigeria’s Dr Olayemi Michael Cardoso and the National Bank of Rwanda’s John Rwangombwa.

The participants engaged in over 15 sessions with speakers and discussants contributing to over 60 topics aimed at finding the pathways that deliver the most traction in the drive to generate momentum and achieve progress.
