MTN FA Cup: GFA appeals committee lifts two-year ban on four clubs

The four clubs shall pay a fine of GHC5,000 each, as declared by the disciplinary committee in delivering its decisions

The appeals committee of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) has lifted the two-year ban on Techiman City FC, Berekum Arsenals, Okyeman Planners FC and New Edubiase from participating in the MTN FA Cup Competition.

The appeals committee considered the consolidated depositions of the four clubs and decided to uphold the decision by the disciplinary committee as set out in its earlier ruling, except the two-year ban on all four clubs from participating in the MTN FA Cup.

According to the appeals committee, “The onset and impact of the COVID-19 pandemic which led to the suspension of the League itself makes this two-year ban unsupportive and unsustainable.”

However, all four clubs shall pay a fine of GHC5,000 each, as set out in the decision by the disciplinary committee.
