Enoch Amoako-Nsiah, a former Ashanti Regional security co-ordinator during the John Mahama government, is leading a campaign to get top executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) out of office.
According to the former security chief, the current leadership – and especially the national chairman, Samuel Ofosu-Ampofo – have failed the party and cannot wrest power from the governing New Patriotic Party in the 2024 polls.
However, citing the defeat of the NDC in the 2020 elections and the recent happenings at the Supreme Court in the election petition, Amoako-Nsiah maintained that the party’s general secretary, Johnson Asiedu Nketiah, deserves to be maintained.
He argued that “General Mosquito” holds the key to the NDC recapturing power in 2024.
Amoako-Nsiah has thus warned that the party risks losing the next election if the current leadership line-up is not overhauled.
