Maxwell Kwame Lukutor, a businessman, is among the five candidates contesting the parliamentary seat in the South Tongu Constituency on the ticket of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).
This is the fourth time Lukutor is contesting the seat. He is optimistic of winning against his opponents on Saturday 13 May.
“I believe that, now, I am so mature to take over from him [the incumbent member of parliament] and to represent South Tongu properly in the big house of parliament,” parliamentary aspirant said.
The businessman stated that the incumbent MP, Kobena Mensah Woyome, is not making the constituency popular enough.
He said, “he [Woyome] lacks the tenacity and the ability to project the constituency” so when he (Lukutor) is given the mandate he will work to the satisfaction of the constituents.
Woyome has been the MP for the constituency since 2009. He said he has the experience to represent the constituency one more time and to secure a win for the NDC in 2024.
Lukutor is the fourth candidate on the ballot. He said when he wins the election, he will work to make the constituency attractive and unite delegates and other aspirants for the progress of the constituency and the party.
