Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, the founder and executive director of the Kandifo Institute, has been recounting his COVID-19 experience, stating that at a point he felt his spirit left his body.
According to him, he was initially diagnosed of pneumonia following a test by his doctors after complaining of having difficulty breathing.
Speaking to Nana Yaa Mensah on The Asaase Breakfast Show on Monday (1 February 2021), Boakye-Danquah said even though he could not tell how long his out-of-body experience lasted, his ordeal as COVID-19 patient was horrible.
“I was very conscious of the places that I visited. I didn’t see myself lying in the hospital, and so that was really what happened, because I think that on 8 January, which was a Friday when my family had come, Dr Enam and a few others I had conversion with, they stated that they had tried all that they could and it had to take a miracle from God,” Boakye-Danquah said.
He added: “Because my lungs were all blocked because of the pneumonia, everything, I couldn’t breathe, even when they put me on the ventilator I couldn’t breathe … when I breathed I felt pain.”
The executive director of the Kandifo Institute recalled it took four days for health officials to stabilise him, adding prayers from his family comforted him a lot until he recovered fully after 11 days.
