North East Region: Regional Minister commends Yabaga MP for his stellar leadership

The North East Regional Minister, Yidana Zakaria, has lauded the Minister of Youth and Sports and the Member of Parliament (MP) for Yagaba-Kubori, Mustapha Ussif for the tremendous developmental projects that he has lobbied for and brought to the people in the area.

The Yabaga-Kubori constituency from 2017 to-date has significantly improved in terms of healthcare facilities, school infrastructure, electricity, road infrastructure, human resources, and other major developmental projects.

The Yagaba-Kubori constituency and for that matter, the Mamprugu Moaduri District, was called “overseas” because of the bad road network in the past, but all major roads in the area are now motorable.

Mustapha Ussif as the Member of Parliament for Yagaba-Kubori has brought a significant change to the people as the area is no longer called “overseas” due to the recent improvements in the road infrastructure, among other developmental projects that are dotted across the constituency.

The Member of Parliament has lobbied for a nurses and midwifery training school in Kubori, a Vocational and Technical School at Loagri, and a senior high school in Yizesi (ready to be commissioned) by September this year, a maternity ward in Yizesi, NHIS office in Yagaba, District Court building in Yagaba, a Nurses quarters at Yagaba, a CHPS compound in Zanwara, a CHPS compound and a teachers quarters in Kubugu, a teachers quarters in Tantala, a teachers quarters in Kikaayiri, six-unit classroom block at Tantala, a six-unit classroom block at Dabozesi, a teachers quarters at Soo, and many other projects ongoing in the area.

Yidana Zakaria who recently visited the constituency and inspected these developmental projects in the area, said he was impressed and has asked other MPs in the North East Region to emulate the good works of Mustapha Ussif.

“We want to commend the Member of Parliament, Honourable Mustapha Ussif for his stellar leadership. I think the time that he has been in parliament has been a blessing to the people of the constituency and, to a large extent, the people of the North East Region.

“These are the kinds of people who should be representing us. Those who are ready to die a little for the sake of their people. So we are blessed to have that gentleman working in concert with the [District] Chief Executive. I am very impressed about this type of leadership and I think going forward, if we are to continue at this same pace, we have our own story to tell,” Yidana said.

Meanwhile, a sod cutting ceremony was held for the construction of two Astro turfs in the area, Yabaga and Kukua for the growth of sports talents in the district.
