North East Region: West Mamprusi MCE donates furniture to schools

The MCE for the West Mamprusi Municipality, Issahak Arimeyaw Basintale Somo Lucky has donated some dual desk furniture to schools in the municipality to abate the furniture challenge in the area.

The dual metal desk furniture was distributed to some basic schools in the municipality in different spaces to augment teaching and learning.

The MCE said that there are about 30 basic schools in the Municipality that have so far received the dual desk furniture from the assembly to create a friendly atmosphere for the pupils.

He reiterated that the assembly has constructed 650 metal dual desks this year and the central government has also supported them with 350 desks to be distributed again to the various schools.

“You know in the North East Region, West Mamprusi has the highest number of basic schools, and this is part of 650 dual desks that the assembly has constructed and then this is also another 350 being given to us by the central government. all about 1,000 dual desk furniture will be distributed,” he said.

He added that the assembly gives out 1,000 pieces of furniture every year to schools in the municipality as part of the government’s efforts.

The MCE appeals to the residents in the municipality to always channel their grievances to the appropriate authorities about the development of the area instead of ranting on social media.

“I want to appeal to schools that have not taken their share of the furniture to exercise patience. It is a process and we will reach out to all schools. They should always channel their grievances to the education directorate but you don’t complain on social media when you don’t put your problem before the authority,” Somo Lucky appealed.

He also appealed to philanthropists and NGOs in the area to support the assembly with furniture so that they will extend the distribution to private schools in the municipality.
