NPA reverses suspension of PSRL on petroleum products

The Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy on petrol is 16 pesewas per litre while that on diesel and LPG is 14 pesewas per litre respectively

The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has reversed the suspension of the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy (PSRL) on the price build-up of petroleum products.

The Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy on petrol is 16 pesewas per litre while that on diesel and LPG is 14 pesewas per litre respectively.

The reversal comes barely a week after the NPA announced the suspension of the PSRL. No reason has yet been assigned to the reversal of the PSRL.

Meanwhile Oil Marketing firm, Star Oil has confirmed the reversal adding that it has revised its prices accordingly.

“Dear valued Starsavers, Thank you for your continued support. We have been informed of the re-introduction of the Price Stabilization and Recovery Levy effective today 4 April 2024. We have therefore had to revise our prices accordingly.

“Even though most of our stations will sell at our revised prices of 13.13 and 14.11 respectively for gasoline (super) and diesel, selected Star Oil stations will offer discounted prices for gasoline (super) at 12.87 and diesel at 13.83, in line with the new industry pricing guidelines.”

“We’ll rotate these discounts to ensure all customers benefit. We appreciate your understanding and support as we implement these changes.,” the Star Oil statement said.
