NPP’s Kojo Frempong renews NHIS subscription of 6,000 residents of Wenchi, organises free health screening

This comprehensive health screening addressed critical non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, malaria and diabetes

The New Patriotic Party (NPP) parliamentary candidate for Wenchi, Boafo Kojo Frempong, has provided free health screenings and renewed the NHIS subscription of about 6,000 vulnerable individuals in the Wenchi Municipality of the Bono Region.

The comprehensive health screening addressed critical non-communicable diseases such as high blood pressure, malaria and diabetes.

The NHIS renewal was a vital part of the effort, ensuring continued access to essential health services for the local population. Boafo Kojo Frempong expressed his unwavering commitment to the region’s development.

“I have witnessed firsthand the struggles of those without health insurance or unable to renew it. If providing health insurance cards can save lives, then I am dedicated to making sure that as many people as possible receive this crucial support,” he said.

A team of medical professionals from the Wenchi Methodist Hospital and the Wenchi Municipal NHIS office worked diligently to carry out the screenings and renewals.

The deputy director of Nursing Services, Cecilia Kumi Amoah, praised Kojo Frempong’s initiative and encouraged those with identified health conditions to seek further medical care.

Beneficiaries of the health screening and NHIS renewal expressed their profound gratitude for the generosity and dedication demonstrated by Kojo Boafo Frempong. His efforts were seen as a significant contribution to their well-being and access to necessary healthcare services.
