Oti Region: World Vision Ghana commissions mechanised borehole in three communities

The borehole has been equipped with modern technology and will provide clean and safe drinking water to the three communities

World Vision Ghana has commissioned a mechanised borehole in three communities in the Krachi West municipality of the Oti Region.

Residents of Kuakua, Matamallam and Bommoden, in the Krachi West municipality of the Oti Region, have suffered water issues over the years. They currently share their only source of water supply with animals raising risks of the spread of waterborne infections.

Speaking during the commissioning, strategy and integrated programme manager of World Vision Ghana, Joshua Baidoo said the borehole will enable access to good drinking water.

He noted that the lack of access to clean water has not only affected their daily lives but has also posed a threat to their health and well-being.

Speaking at the programme, the Krachi West municipal chief executive, Emmanuel Jalula, commended the organisation on their initiative, adding, it would complement efforts by the assembly in increasing access to potable water in the area.

He added, “A water project earmark for the three communities would be relocated to other deprived areas due to the intervention by World Vision Ghana.”
