The Speaker of Parliament, Alban Sumana Bagbin, has recalled Members of Parliament from their recess for an emergency sitting.
The move comes after the Majority Leader, Alexander Afenyo-Markin petitioned the Speaker of Parliament to recall the House.
Afenyo-Markin had earlier expressed the Majority Caucus’ dissatisfaction with the Speaker’s move to adjourn the session indefinitely on Tuesday (30 July).
However, a communique issued on Wednesday (7 August) by Speaker Bagbin summoned the House to reconvene on 3 September at 10am.
