Playback: Kusi Ideas Festival starts in Accra

The third edition of the Kusi Ideas Festival starts Friday, 10 to 11 December 2021, at the Accra International Conference Centre under the theme “How Africa Transforms after the Virus”.

As African governments refine their post COVID recovery strategies, they are not only aiming at improving on pre-crisis levels but also at stimulating more robust, inclusive and sustainable ideas for productive investment.

Given the impact of the crises on their fiscal space, such reboot requires both innovative ideas to mobilize and allocate resources effectively. To reap the benefits of digital technologies, African governments, development partners, businesses and other stakeholders need to prioritize ideas in critical areas. Putting in place a business environment that enables inventors and entrepreneurs to develop the digital tools needed to boost productivity.

In order to accelerate, Kusi Ideas Festivals is expected to open a new space for dialogue, mutual learning and the exchange of the best ideas and practices, rather than stand-alone initiatives.

African governments and other stakeholders will invest in productive ideas to create a business environment that helps boost productivity and upgrade the economy.

Digital ideas will be leveraged to this end, to increase access to markets and include markets for information.

President of Ghana Nana Addo Danquah Akufo-Addo, President of Rwanda Paul Kagame and President Yoweri Museveni of Uganda are all expected to participate.
