Police arrest Burkinabè for allegedly murdering German girlfriend

The suspect is being questioned in connection with the death of his partner and her 13-year-old daughter, whose remains were found in Kokrobite

Police have arrested a 43-year-old man of Burkinabè nationality on suspicion of murdering his German girlfriend and her 13-year-old daughter at their residence in Kokrobite, in the suburbs of Accra.

The Burkinabè, whose identity is being withheld, is also under investigation for secretly burying the two victims in a bushy area of the compound where the house they shared stands.

Gone missing

Reports say the three had been living together since January 2020, until the sudden disappearance of the two.

A strong stench in the neighbourhood and obvious absence of the woman and her daughter prompted neighbours to lodge a complaint with the police at Kokrobite, leading to the discovery of the bodies of the two dead.

An exhumation order from the court is being sought so that the corpses can be exhumed and undergo autopsy as part of the investigation.
